top 5 practice tips!

I recently made a video for youtube going through my top 5 practice tips. I stick mainly to guitar and uke these days but you could really apply them to any instrument.

practice tips!

If you have addition suggestions, post them! Or post to my YT channel if you have one.

I don't think that advertising a video is allowed here. You may catch some flack.

My biggest advice is to actually listen to yourself while you play. Actively listen, not just hearing yourself.

This is a good advice.

Also, always bear in mind the phrase "practice as you perform". Whenever, you are practicing, try to imagine you are performing to someone or an audience

You can try asking your friends to hear you play more often, or leave the practice room door open when you're practicing (providing you're not too loud!)

This helps you to grow in confidence as a performer

One thing that helps me to do this is to record myself. You don't necessarily need high quality equipment to do it either. (I used to use a cheap tape recorder.) But nothing like hearing yourself played back and KNOWING you made a mistake.
