which amp shoul I get?

Hi! I'm thinking about getting a new amp because I'm not happy with the sound I get from my "Line 6 Spider IV 15w". The two I've been looking at in my local music store is the following:

Laney LR20

or

Orange Micro Terror with a Orange PPC108 20w Closed-Back Speaker.

Guitar: Ibanez Gio GRX140.
Effect: Dunlop CryBaby GCB95.

I like to play music like Dream Theater, Led Zeppelin, Rush, Black Sabbath, Deep Purple, AC/DC and such.

Which one would you guys recommend for me?

Edit:

Budget? About 1500 SEK (about $235)

Genres? Hardrock, Progressive rock, Progressive metal.

New or Used? Doesn't matter. But there arn't many used ones up for sale where I live and I don't have a car. I also have bad experience from buying used ones on sites where they don't use a rating system so that you can see if the seller can be trusted or not. So it will probably have to be a new one.

Home or Gig? Home.

Closest City? Kristianstad/Sweden

Please give us these informations as asked on the GG&A Rules and Resources Center so that we can give you better advice:

Quote:
Budget? - What is practical for you and what is your limit?

Genres? - What style do you play mostly, fav guitarists, do you need cleans, etc?

New or Used? - Lots of great amps out there used, especially in a down economy.

Home or Gig? - Also important. Maybe you do both. Jamming with a drummer can be considered 'gigging' but you won't have a PA etc.

Closest City? - We aren't here to stalk you but we need to know where you are in the world roughly and we can help further if we know what city you are in (ie craigslist, local shops, Guitar Center used section, etc)

Current Gear? - Also good for us to know.

I think the best option for you would be either a Peavey Vypyr VIP 1 or a Roland Cube 20GX.

A peavey vypyr would be an excellent little amp for you.

Look for a used vypyr tube 60, you can probably get one for not a lot more money than your budget and it'd be a huge step up.
Or you can also have a look at the Jet City 20w 2 channel combo from thomann, they're dirt cheap and they sound pretty damn good too.

Maybe I could get the http://www.thomann.de/se/peavey_vypyr_vip_1.htm. Is it much better than the ones i mentioned?

Forget about used ones as I have little to no way to get em because I'm in such a small town. The only way I can buy a used one is if they are on Blocket.se and in the city I'm from or on Tradera.com by a seller with good rating.

Spambot_2: The Jet City 20w 2 channel combo in thomann was about 2000-2500 SEK which is way over by budget.

i'll be blunt. If a jet city is way over budget, you should definitely wait longer and save/earn more money.

Given your budget that's about as good as it gets.
