Reinforcing stoptail
The stoptail of my bridge is lifting from my guitar, what would be the best way to sort it?
Sorry about the terrible quality of the picture Is it as simple as some glue to sort it? |

Ouch.
Why is lifting? Glue would be a band-aid. It looks like te hole has elongated? Have you pulled it out to inspect? If the hole is still tight you can push it back in. If lose maybe you can find an oversize one and drill a larger hole. What type of guitar and what type of wood is it?

It originally was like this before I took it out and put it back in; The hole seemed pretty tight so I thought it would be alright just putting it back in, it felt more than stable to hold the strings but once I started restringing the guitar, it started coming out again, that is it with only 4 strings on. Don't think I have a drill to make a larger hole. Apparently its basswood. http://www.gear4music.com/Guitar-an...music-Black/8FL Had it a year and this must have slowly been happening without me noticing. |

Use Epoxy and put some in the hole then place the sleeve back in the hole making sure it is straight. I did this to a 70's LP clone I have and it has been fine for 5+ yrs

^ This. Also make sure you use clamps to secure the inserts down

Looking so far as if the epoxy has worked, got 2 strings on the E and B simply because I've read that its best not having all the strings off the guitar. Pack said that it takes 12 hours until it reaches it's strongest so I'm not putting strings on that side of the guitar until the 12 hours are up.
Thanks for the help. ![]() |

Having all the strings off the guitar won't cause any problems
