Yeah, something's wrong if you need it turned up that high. Mine at 4 will just about peel paint off the walls/break windows. Though, the stock speaker is not as efficient as some of the upgrades people usually do -- so it's possible you need to turn it up higher because of that. Also, if you're still running the stock Ruby power tubes, those might be absolute garbage (mine were). When I installed JJ 6L6s it was like I had just turned the volume up by 1 whole number on the dial.
