NGD - With these pearls i should live in a clam from now on.

Shiny.

This incredible guitar, is a G&L 30th Anniversary Legacy. All USA, all of Leo's finest pre-CBS quality.

These guitars are quite rare, i think this is one of the last few which were still being sold in the UK, and i'm chuffed to bits to have one. Even comes with a signature from Leo Fenders Wife on a certificate of authenticity. Case is of great quality too, its like a case where you can smell the quality

Now onto the guitar. Which i saw in a local shop, and was presented to me when i said that i had quite a high (and flexible) budget. As soon as i picked it up, it was perfection. I couldn't put a foot wrong with it. It sounds amazing, plays amazing, has an INCREDIBLY broad variety of tones, and has the most incredible tremolo i've ever used (though my band doesn't really suit vibrato, so i left it off in the picture).

This guitar is basically one of them bliss moments. I tried it versus a PRS Mira X which was about £1k cheaper than this, and a Gretsch which was similarly priced. Both felt like toys compared to this. It really is in a league of its own. It even made the CE24 i used to have feel weak and uninspiring in comparison. The USA Strat i have now, isn't as comfortable as this, and sort of feels intrusive in comparison (but i'm keeping it cause it sounds awesome).

You can roll the tone off and still get unbridled amounts of clarity. It also has great bass response for single coils, and kicks my Laney into a gear i've never really seen before. It took a blanket off it really, adding clarity, a little less punch compared to my other Strat (which has a Seymour duncan JB in it strung with 13's, so i'd say thats a reasonable feat to be close in bass response). It feels great on a strap, and on my lap. The quality is incredible on this guitar. The finish, perfect, the factory setup, perfect (now changed 'cause i play in open G) and really i couldn't be happier with a different guitar.

All in all i feel proud to own such a wonderful guitar, and i'm going to keep it for the rest of my life. Its just perfection. Unbridled perfection.

Oh, and here's the specs if you wanted to know.

PICKUPS : 3 G&L Alnico V vintage style single coil pickups
BODY WOOD :Alder
NECK WOOD :Hard Rock Maple with Ebony fingerboard
NECK PROFILE :#1 G&L Classic "C"
TUNING KEYS : Schaller/G&L with White Pearl buttons
BRIDGE : G&L DFS Vibrato System
CONTROLS : 5 position pickup selector, PTB system
FINISH : 30th Anniversary Pearl Frost with matching headstock
PICKGUARD : 3-ply White Pearl
CASE : G&G/G&L Deluxe Tolex Hardshell with Tailored Interior

Ripped straight from the website. Cause i'm lazy in that sense.

TL;DR: It destroys everything else and is incredible.

Congrats. I swear there is not a better playing neck than a G&L neck.

I decided to record some cleans more extensively than the gain channels cause well, i enjoy the clean sound i get

These are completely dry, and using a cheap condenser mic which is probably holding back the overdrive setting and probably the clean too. Its just not really its purpose. Damn, i need to get a SM57 :P:

Would really help if i had a better mic though. Like a lot.

Either way, the geet's tuned to Open G (with another G replacing the D, so you get 2 G's where the E and A usually are) strung at .42-.42-.26-.17-.15-.10. Elixrs, from a custom set i made from picking single strings out. Still came to the same price of a normal packaged set!
