Help with minor chords.
Basically i'm having a hard time figure out how to finger these effectively, and ive had no luck trying to bar them. Shapes like this:
e 8 a 10 d 10 g 8 b x e x Any ideas? I can post a video if you think it would help. |

I don't have a guitar at my disposal to try it out myself but it doesn't look too difficult at all. I imagine the first thing i'd try would be barring it and using my ring and pinky on the 10th frets

well thats bassically a barre chord(you wrote it upside down btw)
e8 B8 G8 D10 A10 E8 so i would just finger it that way just not press down on the top two strings or wi would use my index finger finger for the 8 on the E string index for the 8 on te G string and pink and ring for the 10

barre the 8's with your index, play the 10's with ring and pinky fingers kinda like a power chord, mute the first 2 strings with your thumb

Your tab is upside down. But yes, just barre it.
Do a full barre first, then work on un-barring the higher strings. |

Why do you need too "un-barre" them? You just don't play them.

If "you're having no luck barring them", you need to practice barre chords, not look for alternate fingerings. And no, you don't need mute the e-1 or B-2. Pretend you're on a date with your girlfriend and don't go all the way in with the pick. |

Yeah I would suggest barring this the whole way up through the strings. If you specifically don't want the top two strings, simply don't strum them

All the top two strings do in this case, is double the root (C (on e-1 @8)), and the 5th (G ( on B-2 @8)) of the chord. they don't change the chord name. Play em, don't play em, it's still C minor.
