that's under $300 new? while being all tube etc, i don't know that the v22 is that much better than a vox vt15. vox vt amps sound pretty good imo and is the v22 $275 better? I'm not so sure myself. |

What amp is V22 clone of anyway? It depends on that. Other than V serie rest of their amps are known clones of amps costing twice as much.

I think the V series is kind of its own thing, I know that each one of the sizes is loosely based off another amp (I know one of them is supposed to be an AC) but I believe they are the closest to an original design that Bugera does. Help me out someone, I could be running off at the mouth

I read somewhere it was trying to be like the Fender Twin Reverb, but I've never tried the V22 yet so I could be running off at the mouth too. Happy to be corrected.
TS - As you have a VT15, is there a particular setting on there you find yourself drawn to the most? That could be the best way to decide what amp would suit you best.

I gigged with a V22 for awhile. Honestly, I don't think it's meant to model any specific amp, I couldn't really describe the sound myself except for a mish-mash of hybrid/"**** amp had a baby with ****" amp explanations. Cleans are a AC30/Fender hybrid, and the dirty channel is like a more refined Marshall JCM800. That was my experience with my setup, YMMV.
That said, yes, it is $275 better of an amp than the VT15. I would happily gig with a V22 if I needed to in the future, and in my experience with the VT15 I wouldn't leave my bedroom with one.

A) I don't know, I've only looked at them for a short time. That's what else he was looking at according to his OPB): Tbh Greg, after trying them both side to side, the V22 sounded better. Clearer distortions, nice reverb, the cleans were good, altogether better. I used the same guitar (Gibson SG) for both tests so the only difference was the amp. Sorry.

the V series seem to be some of their best historically. i had one, and if i only had 225, and i needed an amp to get me in the door gigging, there is no other option in my mind. amp is awesome for the money and has the power / features to gig.
cant really say about the rest. i take v22 based on el84 british style tone at 14 or 22 watts over the V55 with 6L6 and 55 watts....to darn much

They are made by Behringer, nuff said. If you prefer a new Behringer to a used good amp then I'm just gonna have to do this.

your experience, your opinion and your $275. the TS isn't leaving home with it, that's where he's playing it. ![]() Quote:
oh i didn't say it wasn't better. it just wouldn't get $275 out of "my" pocket. ![]() i've played it quite a bit, and sold a bunch of them when i worked in the store. i'm very familiar with the amp. there is no reason to be sorry that our opinions differ on what $275 is worth to us. ![]() it's a good amp. for ~$300, and someone that doesn't want to buy used? it's perfect. i can make a list of the amps that i've scored for under $300 that would kick it's ass though. of course, those would be "used" amps. ![]() |

TS won't even tell us his closest city.
We can't even get him a used amp list off of CL. Why not at least hear the options?
