Just listen to something new for a change. I'm so tired of people going on and on about lame bands like Nirvana, AC/DC, and Metallica. My mom told me to try new things, and now I listen to metalcore.

if you're tired of the same-old-same-old then I don't think you'll be into metalcore for very long

Also this. The lyrics are actually deep and interesting instead of being "I LOVE JESUS THO" boring crap. Christian music doesn't have to be dull and lifeless, it's just that most of it is.

It's a concept album about the literal death of the Christian Sky God. It's an interesting listen even if you're not religious, as I'm not.

What do mean by "the literal death of the Christian Sky God?" Do you mean the crucifixion of Jesus Christ?

By "the literal death of the Christian Sky God" I mean the literal death of the Christian Sky God... else I wouldn't of used the word literal.

It's a concept album about God literally dying after he defeats Satan in the album before. It's about the moral and spiritual problems that arise. Instead of it being... as I said... lyrics about how "I LOVE JESUS THO"

That wouldn't be Christian; the only "death of God" mentioned in the Bible is the crucifixion of Jesus Christ.

The album is a story about the problems of Christian faith and the problems of atheism, not about the bible. But it is, like the bible, an analogue for things which ARE very real, I assume, in the day to day life of anyone who believes. I know that some of it resonated with spiritual questions I've asked myself as an atheist. It is by a CHRISTIAN band and it's a relatively fair and even handed discussion. There is more to any faith than the contents of it's sacred text, this album points it out wonderfully. Be a little more open minded, it'll do wonders for ya.

So, you're an atheist. Well, I'm in this one group (Christian Guitarists) that used to be very busy; but, now, I'm pretty much the only active user in it. One of the most active users in it was an atheist. Please join. It's really an epic group. It has almost 400 threads. It's been around for almost 7 years.

Way to entirely miss the point of my post.

Congrats.

All I've been trying to introduce you to a band that is both Christian and interesting, because I mean... you like Christian music right? The problem with a lot of Christian music is it holds a rather simple worship message, rather literally preaching to the choir. Even if I did believe, I'm pretty sure I'd get board of listening to that over and over again.

Yet you seem to completely ignore my explanations as to why you might like Oh,Sleeper, as they deal with the idea of faith in both a fair and interesting way. Then all you proceed to do is say "well it's not in the bible" and then act like I'm pushing the fact I'm an atheist into your face (and then dismiss it as if it were a negative thing, that's a pretty shitty thing to do bro.) When all I was saying was, I like the music and the lyrics too despite not being Christian, which if anything should tell about how interesting the meanings of the tracks are, that's the only reason I brought up my faith, I'm not interested in arguing with anyone over religious beliefs.

It's like you're actively trying to be an idiot. I'm done here.

I'm sorry; I'm just new to the forum. But, I see that using God as a fictional character that dies after defeating the Devil is blasphemy.

^I don't think you read Chem's post. I also don't think you know what blasphemy means.
