It's certainly do-able, whether Geldin provides or not, there's recordings of Django soloing with pinch harmonics on an acoustic guitar. The rhythm section has to quiet down but they're certainly at a "usable" volume.

Interestingly he also sweeps loud and clear and does some gnarly alternate picked runs.

It may take a little more attention to detail, but generally speaking, if you can really play this stuff properly on electric, you can do it on acoustic.
