If you do Olympic lifts be sure your form I spot on. Getting a coach (at least someone who knows what there doing) might be your best bet.

That's a pretty decent deal.

Ran 3 miles to the the gym today, failed one rep of my 135lbs 5x5 OHP due to lack of glycogen, Squatted 225lbs 5x5, then got kicked out at 7:00PM because the ****ing gym closes on saturday at 7:00.

Ran 2 miles back because I was friggin tired.

Just a quick question:

I've noticed that after I deadlift, the tips of my fingers will end up becoming numb and feel 'prickly'. I think it might be because all of the blood in my fingers is being squeezed to the tips when I deadlift.

Is this normal, something that I just have to get used to?

I dunno about that man. I've got a buddy that just got back from army basic and he is completely ripped. He's around 5'10, was about 180ish going in. Could bench 225. He's back and sitting around 160 lbs, benching 305.

Will be in basic myself around this time next year, hopefully a tad bit sooner.

tired and bored as shit yesterday so hit up some lat pulldowns, incline press, incline db press and incline flyes. didnt really do much of any of the incline stuff (1-2 sets) because my shoulders and upper back really dont agree with it. probably gonna start incline bench 1-2 times every 2 weeks or so for that nice upper chest swoleness

Did some back work today

Deadlifts
135 1x5
225 1x5
315 1x1
365 1x1

My deadlifts are terrible lately. I assume it's related to the tightness in my back.

Pullups
BW 1x5
25 1x5
45 1x5
70 1x4

One arm rows
85 1x25 1x15

Really high rep sets there.

High pulls
135 2x5
155 2x5

Planks and leg raises to cap it off. My right elbow has been bugging me lately. Injuries suck.

2 weeks into lifting after 1,5 years of depression and couch patoto. Already feeling fitter, better, happier. Getting those noob gains back.

Edit: back then I used to do 30kg weighted dips for reps. Couldnt do a single body weight dips 2 weeks ago. Did 5 reps today. Feels better..

Decided to start working back into bench since all the pain in my pecs is gone now. Started today with various paused reps on incline bench, worked up to a 205lb paused rep. Lowered the weight very slowly.

I think I'm just going to stick with these for a while, I'd rather not get back into the touch and go that injured me to begin with.

Also, 235lbs 5x5 squats this week, getting heavy. Does anyone here have a suggestion on how to improve my high bar shelf muscles? The weight is getting up there and I think my traps are a bit underdeveloped for supporting the weight without my vertebrae getting a bit sore. Wasn't a problem until recently, and have always used the bar without padding.

Heavy high rep shrugs + facepulls + proper form tbars (pulling all the way to your chest/retracting scapula) worked really well for me. I was squatting 3 plates for my max at that stage. I do have really high insertions on my traps though. Even before I started working out I looked like I had bigger traps.

I tried doing barbell shrugs today but I just felt like a huge tool. Would chainsaws/one arm rows help any better? I already do pendlay rows on Wednesday, 5x5 at 145lbs.
