Removing preamp tubes

Is it really a bad idea to use your bare hands? Because I cannot get a good grip on them with a paper towel to pull them out.

If they aren't hot just grab them with your fingers. It won't hurt the tube in the slightest.

Use your hands, you're more likely to break the tubes when using a paper towel because the lack of grip would induce people to apply more force.
