Anyone know whats going on with the new HAVOK album? I saw them last September and they said they were heading into the studio and I haven't heard anything since!

I know its a waste of time posting here but still.....

went to a show after ages....2+ years in fact..
Enforcer, Warbringer and Exmortus. Caudron were also on the bill but ended up in hospital before the show

Warbringer stole the show, of course it is possibly because I went there to see mainly them..it being the only band whose music I knew well. Enforcer seems like a band who sound great on record, live it did not really tickle me. A bit too cheesy, trying to hard for the retro 80s look. Music is good - no doubt. I was also fking tired after the tornado that was Warbringer....ah, I guess I shouldn't be headbanging like a crazy teenager at my age now who cares...had a blast.

Voivod and Vektor were on yesterday but I did not go (should have I know, but I don't think my neck and spine would have survived that in 2 days) Testament and Carcass next sunday

That sounds fucking awesome man Testament and Carcass are doing a show in my town in a few weeks. Gonna see if I can get the chance to go.

Also I've recently started to listen to Vektor, and I'd love to see them live.

I'm sure it was a great show, but it still pains me to see that someone had the chance to see two of the greatest thrash bands out there and missed it

I also want to catch Vektor live, both of their main releases so far have been stellar. I'd wager they give one hell of a live show as well, they seem to have the energy to get the crowd going.

^I know I missed out, hopefully it will be a case of "when" and not "if" I see them live.

Warbringer over Vektor and Voivod? I'm afraid I'm going to need your gun and your badge.

I don't think I've ever listened to Voivod, although I've been meaning to. What would be a good album of theirs to start with?

If you are into more classic heavy metal and thrash, start with War & Pain, otherwise if you want something more oddball and progressive lean towards Killing Technology

Killing Technology is the classic. Albums before that are more traditional thrash, albums after are more proggy.

Thanks for the recommendations. Really enjoying Killing Technology, not sure why I waited so long to listen to them.

Killing Technology is magnificent. Definitely don't miss out on War and Pain, too, although you can't go wrong with their first 5 albums.

Early Kreator is great. One of the few thrash bands I listen to. They have some decent newer stuff as well.

I know dammit! but Warbringer was fun. As was Enforcer and I had hopes from Cauldron too.

and oh, Kreator is great. early or new. Infact one of the few remaining 80s bands still making good thrash post 2000.
Incidentally my last concert before this was Kreator and Suidakra.

Ok, Testament was amazing...but frankly Carcass stole the show!
The usual concert staples, tight as is usual with their live stuff.

had to sit through some terrible grindcore or something at the beginning to get to the main 2 bands which was the sad part.

Figured no one's left here, but I don't think Blood Knight deserve their own thread right now. Thoughts?

http://heavychainsrecords.bandcamp.com/album/demo-2015

I like the intensity, shitty production, and reverb heavy vocals.
