The only thing The Pit did for me musically, was introduce me into Opeth and Protest the Hero.

The Pit has only helped expand my tastes, but not due to particular opinions of users. If I enjoy something I find "bad", it will not be due to the Pit - and I will still enjoy it.

I have to admit, it's kinda weird seeing a furry and brony getting caught up in what the Pit might think of his tastes
Just be yourself; if you enjoy it, enjoy it. And if you decide not to enjoy it by other's example, it should really not be the pit's...

Edit: Goddammit, that post made me feel like a pretentious cunt, not only immature and annoying, but disgusting as shit as well. It's mostly due to the Pit's view on these issues that I feel that way, though. Sometimes I miss the simpler time where I didn't realize this and didn't care... ;___;

If I listened to bands based on the Pit, I'd be listening to more metal or shittier Indie bands than what I already listen to.

music is music brah, the first time I heard the sound of a power chord being played through a distorted electric way back as a child is what drew me to music in the first place and one of the main reasons why I enjoy heavier rock and metal (not that I don't enjoy clean and acoustic stuff of course). It's not that I don't or haven't tried listening to other genres of music it's just they don't grab my by the balls like rock music does.
So I'de say no not really
