New White Amp Day!

So, yeah! A 5 Watt Matamp head with footswitchable reverb and a Direct Output.

I was almost set on buying a Orange OR15 when I saw something awesome. So I sold all my fuzzboxes (except for my favorite Kingston Orbiter), and bought this amp instead. It wasn't cheap, to begin with. I got it for approximately 1000$ with shipping included.

Oh well, the features. Non-master volume, Class A tube head with a single 6V6 in the power amp and a single (not so sure about this) 12AX7 in the preamp. 2-Band EQ, footswitchable tube-powered spring reverb made by Accutronics, Line Out with speaker simulation (no Line Volume knob found on other Mini-Verbs, though ). Has enormous power transformers for such a small amp.

Now, my opinion on the quality. It is just fine with a touch of typical british carelessness (tiny flaws, reminiscent of those I found on my English Marhsall JCM1). One of the pots is a bit squeaky, and the cheapo plastic end caps on the amp handle are not the ones you would expect to see on such a fine amp. The cab itself is made of very high-quality plywood, which is even better than plywood my speaker cabinet is made of. Inside, this amp is beautiful. It uses high-quality components (carbon comp resistors, very nice power transformers, wiring and such) and even comes with really good tubes out of the factory.

As for the sound, it is one of the most unique single-ended amps I've ever heard. It is also the most touch-responsive. You can hear every sound through it, and the dynamics are really impressive. It also has an incredible amount of low-frequencies untypical for small amps. It has, on the other hand, just right amount of volume for practice and very small gigs (let's say 20-30 people). Perfect sound for stoner rock when used with a fuzz box. I will make a video of it the other day, because there's only a few on the net.

So, I am really satisfied with my purchase so far. I will probably update the thread with some details later.

It doesn't need one.

Would you mention its ethnicity if it were black?

HNAD! White amps should be more of a "thing".

Woah guys, didn't mean to be racist! I mentioned the amps color only because it is unusual in the amp world. And after all, I have a black cabinet.

About the abscence of the FX loop: I can't imagine a digital modulation pedal being put in chain with this amp. It's not meant for that.

Does this provide you with a tone of mixed ethnicity?
