in all truth though, the rhythm circuit almost always sounds a bit muddy to me on those.
that is what a lot of guitars sounded like back in the '60s. play some old gibson jazz boxes and tell me i'm wrong. for that setting to sound good by modern standards you'd probably need a really bright neck pup, but that would likely throw the rest of the settings off a bit. try raising some of the bass side pick up pole pieces if you haven't. that can add some clarity to those strings especially on the neck pup. |

Yeah, i mean the rhythm circuit definitely has its use, it's just for what i play it probably won't get a lot of time. In a jazz band, sure i would use it. I figured the same that i would need a brighter neck pickup, which is why im leaning to an SD Jazz. Im just really excited to hear the final product when it's finished!
I never thought to raise individual pole pieces. I''ll try that and see how it sounds, good suggestion.
