How much to charge for a wedding?

My singer and I were asked to play an acoustic set at a wedding, I have to play some classical stuff as they walk down the aisle. We also have to play a few songs at the reception before the dj takes over.

I'm trying to get an idea for how much we should charge if anyone does this professionally.

Song suggestions would also be appreciated. Thanks!

How long are you playing for?

If it were a band for the reception, that's an easy $2000. But the ceremony? Usually I'd charge around $200-400 depending on the length of the ceremony, driving distance/petrol etc. If you're playing the reception too, it completely depends on how long youre going to be playing there.

And dont be a fool with song choice for weddings. Ask the bride and groom what songs they want. Theyre usually quite specific about the songs that are played at weddings.
