Didn't like the v8/v7 pair in the 1570 with my 6505/mesa4x12, but surprisingly they work well with the Kemper Still trying to decide on upgrading them or not. Also not overly happy with the tone zone in the bridge of my 3570.

Just curious why you don't like the tone zone? i was thinking of going tonezone/true velvet/air norton but ive read some things thats making me think i'd be better off super distortion in the bridge and maybe a paf pro in the neck.. and id prob still stick a true velvet in the middle. sorry to hijack the thread, but the man has found his guitar already. ![]()

I suggest you go out and play a couple of models and pick what resonates with you. My RG550 has a block heel. My LNG heel has a slight variation of the block heel and my other Jem has an AANJ. I personally prefer the LNG's neck joint out of all of them. I have bigger hands and the thicker joint just feels more natural.

No apology needed. That conversation is interesting to me also. Just in case I decide to swap the pickups. And...uh....what is a Kemper? Google time! Lol

the tone zone is pretty middy, but it really cuts through very well as far as my usage with another guitarist, bassist and drummer here in my studio. stage is different, but i haven't bought it out on a gig.
as far as the Air Norton goes, i love it. the only pickup i like more for the neck position on an RG is the liquifire or actually the neck pickup that came on my Peavey Wolfgang from the factory. a crunchlab/some SC/liqufire. that is what john prettruchi uses it it will be on my 2550. they sound different, but IMO they are both good. the factory pickups on my 2550 will go on the impending 1550 unless i decide to invest in another set of pickups. i really want new ones for my Gibby too, but i am not very good about buying accessories, i usually get wrapped up in other buys, guitars/amps, whatever it may be.
