Ska BOTM (October): Panteon Rococo
Taken from Wikipedia:
Panteón Rococo is a Mexican ska band from Mexico City. Despite flourishing black markets, they sold thousands of records. While being stars in Mexico, they have been touring Europe the last three years in a row, especially Germany, where their European Label Übersee Records is located. Musical style and lyrics Panteón Rococó blends several styles of popular music such as rock, punk, salsa, cumbia, mariachi, reggae, ska, and also mestizo-music into a very energetic, groovy sound. As they are very political people and sympazise with the EZLN in Chiapas, some of their lyrics contain political statements, but many of them are love-songs. While very popular in Mexico, they are not so known in Europe, hence their contributions and tours there. Group Members Luis Dr. Shenka - Vocals Dario Espinosa - Bass Hiram Paniagua - Drums Leonel Rosales - Guitar Felipe Bustamante - Keyboard Paco Barajas - Trombone Gorri - Guitar Missael - Saxophone Tanis - Percussion Discography Albums 1997: Toloache pa' mi Negra 1999: A la Izquierda de la Tierra 2002: Compañeros Musicales 2004: Tres Veces Tres 2005: En Vivo 2006: 10 Años 2007: Panteón Rococó Contributions on compilations 1998: "Skuela de Baile Vol. 1" with L' América 1998: "Skuela de Baile Vol. 2" with Cúrame (Ver. I know them for a year now I think, because they played a concert for free close a train-hour away from my town, but I watched a video and did not like it so much.....furthermore if I wanted to see them I would have sleep one night in the city where they played.......this was too much

This is actually really cool, especially the vocals, but I'm a bit dissapointed because they don't use Brazilian rythm, which is the second coolest rhythm in the world.
EDIT: Or Cuban Rhythm, which IS the coolest thing in the world, which is just Brazilian rhythm backwards. |

You did NOT just compare Panteon Rococo to a rock band with a flute.
A flute, Brian. I mean really.
