What is that noise?

When I play, I hear a puff like noise. Listen to the vid. Yes I know I suck. Thanks in advance.

Dunlop Tortex .5mm
Valvetronix+ 40 watt.

I can't hear anything abnormal. Where in the video does it occur?

Every time I pick the string. It's like the amp puffs. I can hear it on the video.

Could it be picking up me striking the string? I flat pick and have been told I am a heavy hand.

Sounds fine to me. Could be your technique.

What settings/effects do yo have on the VT40?

it is the picking. It doesn't do it in between legato notes.

It's you hitting your string. Normal.

Amp: uk metal-red (Slash Sig)
Pedal: gold od turned to about 10-11 on a clock face
Gain: 2 o'clock
Treble: wide open
Mid: 11-12 O'clock
Bass: 1 o'clock
No rack effect.
Volume 12 o'clock
Master:9 o'clock
Watt: 9 o'clock

On the Washburn tone 5-6, volume 6

So what can I do to reduce that, or is going to happen and I wouldn't notice if I could play it faster?

Seriously?

It's the sound of your pick on the strings. Experiment with different types of picks of different thicknesses and materials, you will be surprised how much a pick will affect the attack of a note. Generally speaking, softer picks will give you "warmer" attack while harder picks will give you a "twangier" or "sharper" attack.

Ok thanks everyone. The only amp I've ever had was a 100 watt Boss Solid State with a 6" speaker that was destroyed.
