Got a decent deal on a GK 1001 RB. I'm liking the sound I'm getting so far. Really just needed something more to power the Sansamp RPM that didn't limit my sound like the Hartke LH500 did.

I think that Hartke missed the mark with their LH-series bass amplifiers; just as they did with their HyDrive amps. The LH-series amplifiers have an unusual EQ control system, and I think it makes it hard to find a good tone because of it. I have yet to try the Hartke Kilo, but I have heard good things about that one. This is surprising, considering how much trouble they had bringing that one to market.

Thanks. Never got as far as trying one. I remember way back when I started I was half-considering one, but then those genz benz blowout deals happened and that was the end of that.

And now Fender offers a white Precision bass with a baseball bat neck to go with the existing sparkly blue one:

When will the "Signature" madness end?

As Fatalgear pointed out, the EQ is strange. When I was playing country music, I could get away with it, but now that I need a different sound, it just couldn't cut it. I also struggled to get the right amount of volume out of it without getting an awful overdriven sound. I like my HA3500 series head though and was considering getting the 5500, but ended up going the GK route for more power.
