Budget is looking around 100 at the most for the pick up. The dog ear p90 screws onto the top of the body, and not into the cavity, so how would the soapbar p90 work?

Also, if it's a humbucker that is fine, but wouldn't that be a larger p90 style pup?

I'm mostly going for a punk sound, but versatility is something I strive for, since I try to learn as much music as possible.

Will take a look at a Vintage Vibe

Here is a YouTube video Pete Biltoft (a.k.a Vintage Vibe) sent me: its a customer demoing his HS-90 pickup. That's a humbucker-sized P90, and I had asked him about those to go into a Dean Special Select EVO along with one of his H430 or H540 humbuckers.

I don't think I've heard a cleaner P90 tone, and I intend on ordering those very soon.

TS needs a dog ear p90

I was responding to his concerns about tonal variety. I'm getting a HB-sized P90 from VV because that's what I needed.

But Vintage Vibe does dog ears, too, and since they're basically custom orders, I'm sure he could get the dog ears for whatever kind of P90 VV makes, tonally speaking.

OK I thought you were suggesting the HB sized ones. TS has never used a drill, so I figured doing a new P/U route would be out of the question

Man, I am what is called 'round these parts "mechanically disinclined".

I'll ASK if someone knows tools before suggesting they use 'em, 'cause I only use tools if I absolutely have to.

This sounds good, but the cost to get a custom one done might be too much.

Probably just gonna go with single coil dog ear p90 he has on the site for under 100usd.

Unless there are some different suggestions

You misunderstand- ALL of his pickups are essentially customs! That is part of what makes his prices so mind boggling!

Figure out what you want, then drop him an email. Nice guy.
