music mans didn't come out till ~76, they did away with the tube PI in ~77. you can actually date that board by pulling the chassis and looking at the circuit board. the inspector initials it and dates in on the board. looks like this:

this is a board of my 115-65, it was inspected by RME , and made in Sept of '79 (1979 is my birth year )

you can find music man speaker for cheap online at times. i'd prefer their origina 12A speakers. if you want something new though, then just get some nice Fender Twin replacement speakers. like these

https://taweber.powweb.com/weber/chicago12f.htm

but there are others.

never played a T100. i owned K-85's but haven't played the K-100's (though i do assume them to be very similar to K-85).

if anything the T100's are some precursor the K series, the K-85 is the precursor of the K-100. i'd imagine the T100 are their own animal.

to tell truth, if you like them, you might as well keep them.

i have 8 K85's two K100's they are virtually identical in spec from what i have read. they sound pretty similar. however i wont mess with the T100's until i put something else in there. i have a pair of oversized 1x12" cabs i built based on a K100, so if i replace the speakers in the musicman, i can put new speakers in the MM and pull the T100's in the cabs if they are similar enough to the K85/K100

sorry i typed the wrong number that you quoted pre-77 and misquoted '71

thanks for the info

HNAD

That's what I thought when I saw it.

I'm with Gumbi. Get the original speakers! Patience and constant monitoring of eBay and CL.

The T100 is very different from the K85/K100. They sounded closer to the T75, with a beefier Low.

T75s work extremely well with V30s with high gain, ala Uberkab, my preference.

The T100 sounds nice with bright amps, like a VH100R.

i should try to scope out some T-75's with how much influence they have on contemporary tones. i am so lost in the 50's, 60's and 70's.

thats a steal.

yeah some of the fender champ line was made hybrids, and actually sound good. in fact the guy i know that has one preferes its tone over his other fender amps.

actually he didnt know it was hybrid, i had to tell him when i saw the tube layout. that, and its solid state so it didnt react to boosts like his hot rod and we tried to figure out why. thats why.

solid state preamp.

thanks again everybody.

t75's mix really well with v30's, i had that in a few cabs for a while. either t75, or V30's also go great with K100's. pretty much all of the celestions i own are the older models made in england which in comparison sound better than the new ones.

ippon how would you describe the T100's? simialiar to K85's/K100's or are they something really different?

thanks for the kind words

i have an interface and a demo DAW (ableton) but i can get it to record, but there is no volume anywhere not headphones, moniters, in computer. i have went through all of the help things on I/O's and it just wont put out sound, my wife has an iphone5 which may do well, but she is so attached to the phone she is convinced that volume is going to wreck it. which i don't think is possible and obviously not in front of a speaker at noon on my nitro. my phone does a really shitty job. i don't want to release anything mediocre i want it to sound good.

so...

amps make me

computers make me
