I still refuse to acknowledge the existence of said band.

That obsession was this thread's darkest hour.

hey I'm kinda really new to forums as a whole so like I'm sorry if I seem like an idiot right now but later on in the year Suicide Silence, Thy Art Is Murder, Fit For An Autopsy and Black Tongue - they have the drummer and guitarist from Infant Annihilator, although I have yet to hear Aaron's insane blasts for these guys- are touring the UK and I was wondering if you guys had any thoughts on how good any of these are live? I've not really been to many concerts, and this will be my first Deathcore gig so imma try not to get murdered

Shadow of the Colossus have physical CD copies of both their albums up for sale on their bandcamp now. Limited to 300 copies each. Don't know how long they've been available but I snagged both yesterday.

I checked out Shadow of the Colossus for the first time in over a year yesterday. It's...not that good. :/

WHY DOES DEATHCORE HAVE NOTHING!?

Which album? From what I remember the second one was shockingly boring.

The debut. I didn't even know they made a second album.

Very few people do, it wasn't very good.

And eh, it's good for deathcore. I think that was kinda the point. If you're not into what deathcore gives then I don't think there are any bands that will really change anyone's mind.

As do the rest of us. I don't really listen to that much deathcore at all anymore. Though I will occasionally spin the new Carnifex.

The debut does not have a lot of variation in sound throughout the album. But the sound that it does have presents an atmosphere that I find unique: Archaic, bleak, primal, a world of stone and certainly not of metal or steel. Successfully captures the atmosphere of it's namesake as far as I'm concerned. Unbridled aggression all the way through as well.

For their sophomore album, they trade in most of that atmosphere and aggression in exchange for hooks. I don't entirely hate it, but after such anticipation it's a disappointing effort from this group.

I dunno if any of my bros still visit/post here, but fuuuuck it. Slice the Cake have a new single. It took us long enough to put out, but we're pretty psyched. Miss you guys <3

8 minutes is a hell of a single. i've gone too far away from this kind of music to say I listened to the whole thing but I'm glad you guys are still doing your thing and moving forward. I still plan to get you more stoned than you've ever been when you guys finally come play in California.

The imagery reminds me of The Dark Tower books. The clean vocals kinda sound like Machine Head in some spots, but musically and lyrically it's grand and this is exactly the kind of conceptually ambitious stuff that I pretty much live for, regardless of genre.

I think last year was a pretty great year for deathcore. Carnifex, Bleed From Within, Pray for Locust, Martyr Defiled, Whitechapel (though could be death metal... meh), etc. All these albums were worth listening to all the way through Still don't get why deathcore gets so much hate, there are so many really good bands out there. Yet those who do hate just focus on the bad. =/ Not trying to start an argument here, by the way!
