Focusrite 2i4 Problem

Hey guys. Firstly I just wanted to say that I've searched and searched online and even tried contacting focusrite directly through email and have not got a reponse.

I recently got a Focusrite Scarlett 2i4 USB Interface and I am having problems with it.

Well, my problem is that I can't get my PC to detect my focusrite properly. In the manual it says to download and install the drivers, then plug the interface in via USB and it should be listed in "Manage Audio Devices" from then on. However, even with the drivers installed and the interface connected, my computer fails to detect the interface. It shows up in the "devices and printers" window and upon troubleshooting no problems can be found by the computer, but it NEVER shows up in the "Manage Audio Devices" and Reaper wont find it.

I DID manage to get it working ONCE, it allowed me to set it as the default recording a playback device in the Manage Audio Devices window and used it. However, after turning my PC off and restarted it failed to work again and I can't get it working since.

Any help guys?

Cheers
Carl

Right, first thing I would do is to unistall the drivers from the device manager. Once that is done plug the device into another USB slot and reinstall the drivers. If its showing up as a printer then there is a driver compatibility issue.

Sorry if there was any misunderstanding haha. I meant that it shows up in the "Devices and Printers" section in the control panel as an audio device but it doesn't show up in the "Manage Audio Devices" section and wont appear in reaper.
