Just picked up this baby off craigslist. I quit playing for a long ass time and wanna get back into it. The only thing I know for sure is that it's a fender body with Seymour Duncan pearly gates and hot rails pickups. It really wails! The headstock is blank, no idea what the fretboard is made with. It's really dark and very smooth. Intonation is perfect and it seems to stay in tune really well.

With the case I paid $200 for it. Couldn't be happier.

I have to say, I loved my strat before, but now that it's got a tone zone in, I love it even more! Can't put it down. That things sounds absolutely awesome! The day I put some quality pickups in the neck and middle position, that thing is going to rock... but for this week-end, I'll just drop a paper in oil Russian 0.047 microF cap on the tone pot to see what the fuss is all about.

Yes, if that is the description from the police blotter of Mayberry, R.F.D., describing a fight on Maple street.

Even then, I'm sure Andy will clear up any misunderstandings.

And then, over to Aunt Bea's for pie.

In other news, a nice little Fernandes Retrorocket DG (the one with the David Gilmour EMGs) popped up on eBay:

Here's my current Strat, fwiw:

Just a Squier Stratocaster Deluxe, but gets the job done.

I don't miss my old Strat one bit.

They are good solid standard "go to" type guitars with good tone and play ability. I've owned and used a few in my past, cannot complain about anything with the ones I had.

damn you danny for always posting awesome deals on awesome guitars that i can't afford at the moment

Thinking about wiring up a new pickguard for my partscaster, maybe two so i can just drop them in and out in just a few minutes. Current pickguard is a royal blue tortoise shell with a kent armstrong powerblade in the bridge, MiM stock in the middle, and still-unidentified fender custom shop in the neck. I kinda want to wire an F-spaced crunch lab/liquifire combo on a purple tortoise shell, but i'm not sure how that would sound with the alder body

I'm damned, to be sure!

Part of the reason behind me doing that is because I'm like a shark of consumerism: if I don't shop, I'll die! but even so, I can't buy everything I find. So if I find a deal, if I can't jump on it, I publicize it so someone else can...unless it is one I'm hoping to take advantage of at some future point.
