Well I've bought and sold a hell of a lot of pedals so can impart a few nuggets of wisdom. EBS, MXR, and EHX are all pretty much perfect aside from the Bass Blogger by EHX which is a cruel trap for beginners (its cheap but completely terrible.)

I still havent decided between the SA multiwave bass distortion or the tech 21 bass boost fuzz. I hate the blind buy so I may have to flip a coin |

Spaz 91....
You got me reading all sorts of websites now. I spent most of the Night on EHX, and learned that they make the Sovteck Tubes that are in my beloved BP-8's. The Opto Compressor looked wild. I just remember to noise and crud that used to come out of guitarists MXR and EHX units back in the early 80's. Quietness and packaging sent me in the direction of the Boss back then. They were easy to patch together. Was on AD/A yesterday and was making me miss my TFX4, not that it was versitle, but that the effects were all Analog and in one package. Wow. Had a wonkie switch problem with it but they fixed that. I suppose I will be lloking for another one of those again like I did he PB-1 Preamp. I just looked at Line 6, and it looks like they have walked away from Bass Modeling and the Bass Market over all. Just an after thought now. Reviewed the Roland GP-8 which was supposed to have Analog Boxes inside. Well it is off to read more on EBS and MXR. Nothing else to do with New Years Day. Source Audio Dist and Env big pedals, ADA TFX4, Digitech Studio Quad and 2120, another PB-1, are on the radar. |

I just got a SansAmp Tech 21 Para Driver. Biggest noticeable upgrade in sound from a pedal I've ever heard. Can also get some real nice sounding fuzz by turning up the drive knob.
