How about Indonesia as manufacturer?

Owned 3 basses form there, all of them costed 300-400 new, and none of them had issues, and overall atention to detail was from good to very good. I really can't complain.

Okay then I'll keep the Squire Vintage as an alternative. (Given its seller changes his attitude he's shown so far.)

Right now I have 3 candidates:
- Squier Vintage
- Ibanez Roadstar
- Hohner

They make all kinds of basses across the spectrum in Indonesia now. They make low end Squiers and they also make Lakland Skylines and G&L Tributes (two high quality and well respected import lines) and Ibanez Premiums there as well.

The Squier was bought a few days ago, so that's out of the picture.

I tried the Ibanez RB760 first, some stuff didn't quite felt right.

I tried the Hohner today. Felt much better. Though I didn't have the chance to try it through an amp, but acoustically it sounded good. Looked also quite good considering its 7+ years old. I think it's going to be the winner.
