Floating bridge problem?
Hi all, I've just changed the strings on my ibanez 170dxl to the Ernie ball 13-48 gauge set.
I realised these are obviously much thicker strings and as such would have more tension but due to playing tuned down on my ibanez I decided it would be a good idea, I guess time will tell. The problem if it even is a problem is that now my bridge ( which is a floating trem ) is now considerable more raised than with the previous strings. I can fit about a thumb two fingers in the gap. Is this a problem or is this to be expected with thicker strings on a floating trem? Thanks in advance Simon |

You need to properly set the spring tension and the intonation (adjust the saddles).

Ah okay, how do I do that? By using the Allen keys to loosen it?
