So did anybody get guitar gear for Christmas? I got a Joyo Vintage Overdrive pedal. I like it! And I guess my MIM strat was an early present from myself to... myself... :-D

No gear- except what I buy for myself- and no Sci-Fi/fant/horror books for me (got lots, & behind on my reading)- but my Dad did give me a very nice pen with an inlay Asian dragon on it.

Oh I'm so behind man, haha, I now have a pile of about 7 or 8 books that I need to get through! But then people keep giving you more... I think I have an addiction as well

I'm talking double- maybe triple- digit being behind! I hadn't read Asimov's Foundation books, nor Card's Ender or Wolfe's Sun series, so I bought the lot.

Which didn't create my backlog, just added to it!

If you have a tablet or smart phone, find an app called Bookbub (there are likely more than this one as well) -- it sends you an email every day that has both free and cheap (like $0.99) books in the genres that you select that are available for download from Amazon, Apple, etc. These are frequently available free/cheap for a day or two and that's all. But since I read like a demon, this saves enormous amounts of cash.

That may not exactly have been the best idea

I really don't much like reading on my phone, the screen's just not suited for long sessions if you ask me!

Thing is, I don't actually read that much, too much other stuff to do, but I love buying books on the promise that I will read them soon!
