Jorn Lande's performance on The Scarecrow is Godlike.

Oh, you burn your feet on unholy ground
You roam the barren wicked plains abound
In evil eyes and evil speak
About it all your evil freaks

Probablly one of the best power metal bands...

I wish they would go on tour somewhere around me though :/

This thread needs more attention. Listening to runaway train from the wicked symphony. Pretty good.

Metal Opera pt. 1 is alright, don't really dig the rest of their material.

I heard part 1 and part 2 just recently. They were both good, but I liked part 2 a little better. I have a question--I noticed a few metal bands a going the "opera route." Is this a new trend in metal?

Hell yeah, Avantasia. Good bump. Can't wait for the new stuff in 2013.

You can sneeze and hit 10 or 20 bands that people claim are "metal operas" like Epica, Sirenia, Nightwish, etc. Having orchestration and operatic vocals doesn't make it a metal opera. The combination of that and multiple singers playing the roles of different characters in an over-arching plot or theme is what I consider a "metal opera."

New album slated for a March release. Sounds awesome. Apparently he's hired an actual orchestra this time.

Jorn had better be on this new album. I wouldn't have minded if he wasn't, but now that he's left Masterplan I need my Jorn fix.

The Scarecrow trilogy provided me with enough Jorn to last a lifetime. I really hope he doesn't play an integral role on the new album.

I really really like this album. I've always been kind in-between with Avantasia and only liking the metal operas but recently I listened to Angel of Babylon and now this, I can't get enough. Scarecrow and Wicked Symphony are still super meh though.

Of the Scarecrow trilogy (The Scarecrow, Wicked Symphony, and Angel of Babylon), Wicked Symphony is the closest in style to the Metal Opera pt. 1 & 2. If you like the Metal Opera albums I don't see why Wicked Symphony wouldn't be appealing.
