Another IDM/Ambient/I don't really know tbh song (GP5/GP4/MIDI)
I pulled this one out of my ass today. Came up with the first riff by fucking around with the different MIDI synth sounds and such. A bit longer than the other one and one of my longest songs no doubt. I don't think it drags on that much, but hey I'm biased. Also, is it too similar to the other one? C4C is applied here, hope you enjoy.

you must have a lot of room in your ass to bust this one out lol jk. Well, i could say its repetitive but thats expected with this kind of music :P but seriously once everything kicked in it sounded very nice, feels like midi was made to make this music sound so good on it, so liked it alot cheers!

I didn't mean it like that. I worked my ass off on this one and the other for sure: it wasn't something that came easily to me, and that's probably why I enjoyed it so much. I only said that I "pulled it out of my ass" because although I like it and became so entangled in it (yes I admit, I do really like my music sometimes, I wouldn't have composed it otherwise) I became biased towards myself, in that imo it was the best I could get it to be at that time (by that I mean yesterday lol). And that's not something that everyone else feels, since they don't have that connection with it, so while I was happy for myself for doing it, I was afraid people wouldn't find it good at all, that's why I made that silly remark: I could've said I thought of it as a "shitty" song but that's not the way I felt about it, although people could've. That's why crits for this song and the other one (or any other song really) really matter to me, since I go through long times of writer's block and just hate everything I write. When I finally come up with something I'm proud of I want to know people's unbiased opinion of it. Even if you guise had teared (sp?) it apart I'll would've have known what I did right or wrong this time. It could make me feel bad, but that would be a good kind of hurt since I could learn from it. I could probably extend this into a huge blog entry lol.

I'm not a fan of Electronic music so take my opinions with a grain of salt.
The intro is far too long, and rhythmically boring. However, once the glitchy (?) drums start, with the pads in the back it becomes much better. The ambienty pads are very nice, but you need to change that intro riff, it's very boring. The drums that come in around 120 are good. In summation the main riff is so boring, the other parts of the song (Especially the arpeggios on Pista 5) are pretty much all solid, but that main riff... Again I don't know much about ambient, so I'm not the most qualified guy to be judging this. C4C http://www.ultimate-guitar.com/foru...d.php?t=1589000

I like how the Omethisation of the Percussion actually works well with this kind of music.

That was great, sounds like it could be on one of Aphex Twin's selected ambient works albums.

Just what I was going to say, meh! It's incredible how well it sounds even in guitar pro's midi It seems like a really thought out song, and I enjoyed it very much! Would have it on my phone and listen to on the train if you turn it into a full-on VST/not midi song, so do that ![]() Maybe you could give me a short opinion on my song? Just a quick wordie? ![]() It's kind of a drag though, sorry!

I don't think my opinion will matter much on this, as I never listen to this kind of music.
The intro drags. To be fair, the whole song drags, but I guess that's a feature of the genre. Even though this is coming from someone that's afraid of looping sections more than two times and reusing them without variations, I think some parts could be cut down. Like the time before the drums enter. I'd like to see some variations on the drums though throughout the song. My favorite part is the glitchy blippy drum roll thingy you got going on at 121, and I like that you combine those drums with the intro. Sorry if I'm being harsh. ![]() |
