I'm currently deciding between a Gibson SG Special and a PRS S2 Mira, both 2014. Does anyone have any experience with the SG Special? Is it normally so bright sounding as opposed to dark, thin tones of most Gibson guitars, or did I just happen to stumble across one that's bright and chimey? Are there other guitars that Gibson guitars that are brighter? The reason I never really liked them is that they're so dark and thick, but the SG Special seems to stand out amongst them in that regard.

That's cool man. I actually gave some girls a ride to Ottawa recently, didn't figure to check you out to party. Oh well next time.

And, I would go for the PRS, or save up for an SG Standard.

were you running it though an amp you're familiar with? sg's can totally be bright and chimey through the right amp in conjunction with some new strings.

not sure about the full specs on the pickups, but they're lower output than pickups on standards and some customs, therefore not smashing the input section of the amp. that's just a guess though.

kinda drunk over here
