Question String Gauge/Finger Strength

I've changed my strings from .9's to .10's and since it's the first time I've upped the gauge (mainly for slide work), my finger strength is not enough for quickly barring all the strings, or quick chord changes (even though bends are fine, for some reason)

So apart from normal chromatic exercises and finger stretching, is there anything else I can/should do in order to get my finger strength up to the mark? Should I devote more time to it, do a certain exercise, etc.?

Any and all advice will be highly appreciated.

Thanks!

Just play and be sure not to "overpressure" the frets. Applying minimal pressure is key. It will take some time, so don't rush it.

My guitar teacher put it best, am I Slash or a pro player? Nope. So why do I think that I can do what they can do with heavy strings? Guitar is challenging enough without adding to it.

If you can't barre and bend as much as you want to day after day with 8's or 9's, why go up a gauge? I started playing with 11-54's on my guitar, because I thought it would be real easy to quickly gain strength. It was. My technique couldn't develop properly because it was so difficult, so basically, I was wasting my time and destroying my fingers.
