Make a wooden cover for the back of your cab, Jesse. It's very interesting to hear how much of a difference it makes.

Also, congrats on the 5150III lemur, I almost got one of those myself, but something else popped up I had to jump on. Which reminds me, I never took those pics I promised ...

you're telling us in this day and age you can't track down a camera? pfft! no excuses! pics! and yeah that's true, the back panel actually is just screwed into the cab. it would be really easy to get a plywood sheet cut to size and screw it in. hardly any work for me. and hey I could even practice carpeting the piece. never done it before but I sure wish I knew how. read a little on it but I wanna try it.

Spent a weekend watching a friend and his lady friend play Rocksmith on the PC. I would like to try it, if they ever release a track I'd actually be interested in. However, it has me concerned. It looks like it would lead players down the wrong path. The way it registers "successful" notes and doesn't do shit to teach you any proper technique (I really don't think a game can teach technique) seems like a good way to bring up a generation of sloppy players.

I was also cringing when they were tuning their cheap guitars up and down over and over again per song. The science of proper string tension and neck relief no longer existed. XD

So I played an RG7421 today for shits and gigs to compare to my RG7321.

Holy shit I can see why people hate Ibanez now. It was awful. On piece maple neck unfinished and not bound, frets were a tad sharp. Physically lighter than my RG7321 (no clue why, specs are basically the same). Pickups were crap imho. Why did my beloved Ibanez make this and betray me? :'(

Thanks for the tip guys, my experiences have been good but I'll bear this in mind in future!

Ok guys sorry for the scattered post but I'm still hunting down my first 7 and wanted to get a couple opinions. I know there's a general hate for schecter on here but ive been looking at the Garza PT-7 and the Hellraiser C-7 FR 7. The specs of the Garza one are pretty much dead on what I'm after and I love the tele style body. I hate the fret marker at 12 but that's what sharpies are for. Im certainly not against having a trem on it BTW so no need to rule that out. Before someone suggests it, I am not a fan of the agile ones. Does anyone have any thoughts on these guitars or any other suggestions on what to look at? I am open to non tele bodies if it catches my eye and the specs are similar. I saw the ESP TE-407 as well but it just looks kinda plain to me. Trying to stay under $1000 US. Thanks for any help.

If you like it, then get it. Definitely give it a try first if you can though. Everyone has their preferences, mine's Ibanez and a lot of people out there hate Ibbys.

Im certainly not against Ibanez by any means. I just know that lately unless you're getting one made in Japan they've been hit and miss with quality control. I mean I have a Schecter now and I'm used to the neck just wondering if there's other options out there that I'm not thinking of. But the only downside with the Garza is that I cant find it in a local shop and online the only place ive seen that has it is AMAZON through Schecter and I dont know how to feel about that.

Schecters are awesome, especially the stuff they're releasing this year.

I really like the look of the c7 and have been looking at it for a while. How do you like the dual 707 combo though? The PT-7 Garza Im also looking at has a 60-7 and an 81-7 in it. None of my local shops have either in at this time so I cant exactly play them and pick a favorite.

The 60/81 set is much better than the 707 set. Unless it's the 707X, I hear those are better.

Thats kind of what I was expecting to hear. I figured it to be more versatile at the very least with still having enough crunch.
