This Torn Soul

Hey guys, this is something I wrote a long time ago (like seven years kind of long time) and I had completely forgotten about it, until I came back to UG after a very long hiatus and found it lingering in a thread I'd made a long time ago. After a long battle within myself over whether I should post it in a new thread, or bump my old thread I decided to start a new one (any mods that disagree, please chastise me as required).

Without further adieu, here it is... This Torn Soul (REVISED!)

V.1

Whatever happened to you and I?
We used to say it was do or die.
Implications I can't erase
Of the very things that I can't face

Chorus

Knock me down
So I don't feel like this again
The words you say, are far away
Echoing back to me
Across all this faded time.

V.2

It's been so long, now I realize
We both threw punches that lonely day.
You were what helped me out with my self doubt
You were the steam of my self esteem.

(chorus again)

V.3

Whatever happened to you and I?
Was it really what you wanted?
You're so hard to read, so hard to see
And I felt like I was blinded by you.

Very relatable, there's beauty in simplicity, and this proves it!
