Uneven neck on ESP LTD

I bought a new EC 401 last year and immediately noticed fret buzz on the low E string on all frets. I took it as the guitar wasn't set up correctly so I raised the bridge on that side way above spec with no stop to the buzzing. Recently I took it to a luthier in town who put more bow in the neck and set the action to spec. Still buzzed. The luthier then put a neck relief gauge on the fret board and showed me that the low e side of the neck was not bowing as much as the middle or high e side of the neck with the reason of it wasn't planed correctly at the factory.

Has anyone had any experience with this sort of problem? I have not, and although I can't seem to get in contact with ESP am thinking that I may have to send it back for warranty work. Any thoughts on the problem or how I could go about getting it solved are appreciated.

Thanks

Been my experience that a twisted neck is garbage.

Start arranging to send it back.

*edit* Never buy a new guitar with fret buzz. A brand spanking new guitar should be perfect when you leave the store with it.

It sounds like the neck is warped. Not so much you can do about it. Sorry.

It would require a monster job to fix it. Sucks.

Do you hear the buzz through the amp or unplugged?

Since the guitar was bought new a year ago, your going to find it very hard if not impossible to send it back. Even if it was from the factory they will most likely blame you and poor care as the cuprit.

Why did you wait a year to have it figured out? And I agree that you should never have to put up with fret buzz on a new instrument.

Thanks for the input, everyone.

I hear the buzz when the guitar is not plugged in. Mostly from the second fret all the way down the neck. This guitar was my first electric so I didn't know that the buzz wasn't normal since the shop I bought it at supposedly set it up for me.

I did get ahold of ESP this afternoon. I explained the problem and they issued me an RMA number to send it to them for warranty replacement or repair. They were very understanding on the phone. We will see what the outcome is after they receive it, I guess.

ESP support is really outstanding. I had a few faulty tuners before and they did send the replacement very swiftly. Cannot complain about that.

Thumbs up

ESP support is amazing. I sent the guitar back to them last Thursday. They called me last night to let me know that they found a bump in the neck a few inches below the nut. The guy who called said they had a brand new, non blemished, non refurbished guitar similar to mine only the newest model that they would send me if I agreed. Otherwise they said they could go through an extensive repair process if I wanted my exact guitar back. He emailed me pictures of the new guitar for my approval. Looked good, so I took him up on the new guitar. Very nice people to deal with!
