35" Scale problem.

I remembered asking here about the differences between 34 and 35 scale basses, and i was told to go try basses with 35 scale and decide from my own experience. I'd like to state that there's absolutely no noticeable difference between them.

Still, i never thought there could be another problem. FINDING STRINGS FOR SAID SCALE. Unfortunately, i searched a lot for and "extra long scale" pack of strings (my former 4er strings started to get thiner before the nut... so i know those strings wouldn't fit my 5er) and found none. NONE. Luchily i brought my bass with me, and i could ask for the sellers to open packs of strings to see if them fit (still, i could only try packs that weren't sealed, obviously). I found rotos 45-5 (.45-1.30) fitted, so i bought them.

What i would like to ask you is if you know packs of strings like this rotos that are labeled as long scale (aka 34") but could still fit a 35 scale (obviously, a 5er). Cause there migth be some strings that start getting thiner before going past my nut. Rotos 66 were like 1mm short...

SO, any pack of strings that, even though they're labeled as regular long scale, that could fit a 35" scale 5er???

I think D'Addario makes a set or sets for 5 string long scale.

If you string through the top, ernie ball's regular long strings should work. Otherwise, you should order the strings online. They're cheaper that way anyway

Good, this is a great example. I would have bought them, but in the pack, they said it was 34" scale...

I haven't had a problem with GHS Boomers; even on a string-through-the-body 35" five-string. But their Infinity strings taper and won't work on a 35" STTB five-string.

DR Strings have the Long Necks and a Hi-Beams(LMR5-45) set for 35+ scale length.

I use them both for my Ibanez BTB's and LTD F's.

I've always used Ernie Ball Regular Slinkys on my LTD and they fit fine.

I bought mostly from these guys when I used to have money, they're the cheapest going out of pretty much anywhere and the international shipping rates are pretty decent too, I think it cost me about $14 to have 4-5 sets shipped over here.

Thanks for the info. I may borrow my parents credit card in order to buy from them. Thanks so much for the replies!
