Question for those who can sweep well!

Hi everyone, just a quick question about sweeping. I've noticed something about my technique recently that's throwing me off a bit... When I play something like the intro to Alaska by Between the Buried and Me, I can do it relatively clean and my movement is pretty fluid, but can still be improved, and other licks like the one at about 0:36 (in the link I'm gonna post at the end) I have trouble picking wise.

I think my problem might be with how tightly I grip my pick or my attack, so would someone who is an experienced sweeper try to explain to me how tightly you hold your pick and your attack? (I hold my pick relatively tight and tilt the pick slightly up/down depending on the direction I'm going and I softly glide over the strings). I dunno if this next bit of information will be useful, but I use tortex jazz picks 1.14mm, and the super thin red ones (not quite sure about the thickness of the latter, because it just says L3 on them). I'll also post some covers where I do sweeping. Some criticism on my technique and where I can improve would be much appreciated

EDIT: Something else that may also be relevant -- I've been playing for about 5 years, but I've only learned how to sweep about 2-3 years ago.

A Preservation of Immortality - Wretched (the lick at 0:36 I was talking about):

My cover of the intro to Alaska:

Mowgli - Veil of Maya Cover (Section with sweeping starts around 2:00):

"Tone is in your hands" the attack depends on the sound you want. It is entirely up to you.

As for your grip, again there is no one way to hold your pick. Just as long as you are as comfortable as you can be, there should be no problem in either of these.

I'm not the best judge on technique, but your sweeps sound up to par. Rolls might need a bit more practice but I could be mishearing it

Thanks for the tips!

Yeah, my rolls do need a bit more work. I've just been focusing more on synchronization, so my rolling is one of my weak points.
