NGD incoming after easter. A 2011 Traditional in black with black plastic.
Its got a few upgrades:

- Jess Loureiro PAF replicas
- New electronics with NOS bumblebees
- Switched out the nashville bridge with Abr-1

Payed 1300USD. And in Norway is a really good price. I will make a proper NGD thread when it arrives.

2 Another thing: what would you consider 'ridiculously high' (metric measurements please)? When I set it up, after I raised the bridge, I raised the tailpiece too so that none of the strings would touch past the saddle. Also, the nut is sloped towards the treble string side. I set up the bridge and tailpiece accordingly, should have I just left it straight? How about the actual feel of the strings when wrapped? Is it more difficult/easier to intonate or the same, relative string tension etcetera.

3 Lastly, it is not an Epi, it is (sadly) a knock - off. I would like to leave it as is, 13 KOhm PAFs sound great, and I am not a fan of the brass sound. If I could have a bone bridge, I would.

4 P.S. I live in Australia, so you will have to excuse me with the different (generally higher) prices for everything, as well as the time difference, speaking of which, I would like to get off now. Sorry for being so inquisitive, and maybe even annoying.

1 no.
2 okay a metric finger width.
3 bone? eww.
4 not at all.

There's a couple of "reasons" for the wrapover. I used to do it on my LP

1. Increasing the string length supposedly makes bending easier.

2. It allows you to screw the tailpiece further down into the body without worrying about the break angle of the string over the saddles which (Heres that word again) supposedly gives you better sustain.

3. It looks cool.

Thank you for that, the only answer I ever needed. I think I will 'wrapover' not the next string change, but the one after that. So what is the 'theory' behind the easier bends and better sustain? Could you elaborate a bit more please? And did Lester Polsfuss ever do this himself?

@Phil I hate click tracks myself. In fact, my opinion is that you have to stay within somewhere around 5 beats a minute, and only one instrument fluctuating at any given time, without a metronome. It is doable, as here down under metronomes START at $35... You have named some of my favourite bands, if you could find the fluctuation map that would be great, I would owe you one on the house.

@greg how can you hate on bone? My nut is stallion bone, and the open string tone is very balanced between damp and emphasized highs. I really do wonder what bone saddles will sound like... Subjective opinion is the reason for my signature, remember

Nah I sold it pretty soon after I got the Kemper. Why's that? You thinking about getting one? If so, I'd seriously recommend that you wait and get the Kemper. They're worlds apart.

You can get great stuff from the 11R, but it takes an age. The Kemper is awesome right out of the box.

I was mulling over a second hand one - they're not worth 700 to me.

Maybe I'll get a kemper one day but it won't be for a while.

Sorry boss

What were we checking them for?

The snare track sounds like it's missing the snare a bit and not got enough top end
