It's "customized." You're paying extra to have someone who is not a professional luthier do the work, since their time is more valuable. Standard craigslist practice around here. It's totally legit. Totally.

I just ordered some parts, mostly for my Jackson, but I also ordered a mini switch for my Epi SG. It will connect the two P90's in series. I'm very curious how it'll turn out, in the best case it will be a badass doom metal beast, in the worst case it'll be just an awful mess of mud. Anyway, can't wait to try it out.

Anything in series is always cool.

Especially dominoes.

Well I saw a YT video of someone wiring 2 humbuckers in series, so essentially 4 single coils in series. Even I think that's a bit over the top, but then again where's the fun in not going over the top?

Only time I go over the top is when I take my preworkout.

But yeah, I think I saw that same video. It was pretty cool.

Sorely tempted:
http://www.ebay.com/itm/US-Masters-...=item2a4f7f3ad6

https://reverb.com/item/643537-us-m...9-spalted-maple

That is almost the exact configuration I'd have gotten mine if US Masters hadn't gone under. Assuming the guy is being 100% honest, I'd bet that reserve price- based on the Reverb listing- is still more than I'd pay for a fire-damaged refurbished guitar.

Just did it. My arm is still busted so I can't really play, but I did try out how it sounds.

As expected, it sounds like a fat high-output humbucker, pushes the amp's overdrive. Think Black Sabbath. Also as expected, tone character is very balanced. I don't think that's what a middle position humbucker sounds like (never had one), it's not in-between, it has both bridgey treble and necky volume. Similar to the classic middle position (which puts the pups in parallel), but with much more power.

Turns out it is very good for clean chords. Closest that I know is a neck humbucker+bridge single coil combo, but this is even better. Voluminous but with that bridge SC sparkle, and it has some good punch. Loving it.

I'll record a demo when I'll be able to.

Nice, glad that worked out for you.

I need to get that 12th fret inlay replace on my SG at some point.
