Back from the dead

Hey guys,

I've been part of UG for a while, but have been away from the bass forum for a long time. Had to sell most of my gear and have had very little time to play, anyway.

But now I'm back. Not sure if I was ever a very good contribution to the bass forum, but I'll try to be this time around.

So check out my new rig! I was saving for a new computer to do a little recording on, but I came across a craigslist add for this acoustic 4x10 cab, exactly like the one I used to have, and for only 75 bucks! I went to pick it up and it turns out the guy was liquidating his whole rig. I offered him 300 for the cab and TC electronics BH500 head and he caved.

The head is brand new, never leaving his house and the acoustic cab is pretty banged up but still works fine. I paired them up with my classic Eden 115. Its an older Eden cab but it's been babied its whole life in a bluegrass band.

The bass is an Ibanez SR300DX. I got it for 150 and it's in pretty nice shape. Active PJ configuration and a slim neck makes it a pretty good bass. It's not anything special, but it holds it's own against anything I've ever owned.

So that's my rig, and for just 650 I'd say I did pretty darn good.

Damn, I'd kill for a rig like that at a price like that

Thanks guys. I dabble in flipping things I buy for a profit, so I may not have the amp for very long, but I am going to enjoy it while I do. If I can get my recorder working maybe I'll post some sound clips.

Nice rig for the price! And good to see you back. I may look at one of those Eden 115 to add to my existing rig this spring.

The guy who sold me this Eden said he was a collector, its an older model with ceramic speakers and without the tweeter. I like the tone it adds to the rig, though. Gives the bottom end a more colorful oomph as opposed to the clean and transparentness of the Acoustic 4x10 and tweeter.

I LOVE the head. I feel like I could get any tone I wanted out of it. And the features are outstanding. I've never liked to use other compressors before but the one on this head is very practical as well as the tubetone and tweetertone knobs. And that on board tuner with mute puts it over the top.
