any of the Hal Leonard beginner books.

Check out the [link removed] on my site, its at the bottom of that page. It covers everything a beginner needs to know and comes with video and backing tracks.

Another great resource for online learning is guitarlessons.com. It's a free website offering tutorials for Beginners to Advanced players. Very neat website. I would refer this and justinguitar.
