His voice is fine. Godspeed! is good, and I have one of their CDs that I sometimes play.
Usually I'd rather listen to something else though.

What CD is it? I'll check it out. I dunno if it's just me but ever since I've left my muse fanboy ism I've been so much more willing to try out other kinds of stuff. Shitty muse liberated me

It's in a different order from the actual album though.

I have been more open too but that's not because I've been less into Muse. They were my gateway to quality music and expanding my taste so I have to give them credit there.

Sweet, I'll check it out soon. Yeah no I owe them a lot, they made me pick up a guitar and practice piano so yeah, they'll always be great. I just hope they come back with a bang and not another just bearable album (which the 2nd law sort of is).

You should check out the new Cibo Matto album. It's good quirky pop stuff, great production.
I'm listening to OOIOO's latest record too, challenging stuff but I dig it.

I listened to Cibo Matto when you posted them in the good music thread. It's really good.

I'll give OOIOO a listen sometime today.

I'm so sad this is dead. I feel like we're the only one's left on planet modern rock

I mean even the RHCP thread is long dead I can't remember if you posts much in the off topic thread but that was my hangout when I was an immature prick. I'm so glad I didn't frequent the pit til much much later

It honestly feels like the end of an era to me. This thread isn't just a thread, it's a symbol.

It really is just us, aside from some one-off posters every now and then. Even Will 2 has left us. I was never too active in the off topic thread but I did look in there and occasionally post.

I don't think it helps that Muse are a lot quieter about recording new albums and things than they used to be. There hasn't really been a lot of news about them recently.

You always try to reassure us. :/

I just watched a bit of live in rome and it's so corny. They need to reevaluate their live shows in my opinion.

I'd agree with you partially. Animals was fantastic, it was like performance art. Loved it.

Here is what you could expect from Live in Rome:

1. The dumb glasses + camera thing during Madness.
2. Lots of extra 'actors' brought in (it kind of worked during Animals).
3. Lots of Matt walking around without a guitar, even more than when The 2nd Law tour still started. (even in Blackout he doesn't play guitar anymore. In some songs this works but without his guitar playing a lot of the songs sound thinned out. And honestly aside from a few slower songs his stage presence is much better when he has a guitar.)
4. Too many stage changes and corny mic positions. I remember one song when they positioned the mics so that Matt and Chris face each other instead of the audience. These are not inspiring 'scenes' lol, and the way they change it every other song is not good.
5. Worse set list and overall not the energy that they used to have.

Really if they ditched the corny gimmicks their set would still be great. I don't mind the fancy stage stuff (the towers during the Resistance tour were cool) but they haven't been good for the past three years.

That pretty much describes the T2L tour when I saw them in amsterdam haha and I was so psyched to hear Blackout but like you said, it was rendered quite meh

Lol I'm back.

You probably don't even remember me.

BTW Godspeed! kick arse. Lift Your Skinny Fists is just outstanding. Never listened to Silver Mount Zion but been meaning to. Their constant name changing is quite amusing.
