I found this little tidbit from GeoFex

This isn't perfect, of course. Most of the tubes in the preamp section of a guitar amp are dual triodes, and often only one section goes bad. Also, "going bad" doesn't always mean "totally dead". There's all kinds of things that mean only section one or two is bad, one side is noisy, one side is arcing, etc. But you CAN get some ideas.

So I'm gonna go with yes.

Losing one side of a dual triode is quite common.

Hi, first time on the forums, no idea wtf I'm doing, but I wanted to ask

I've been playing Children of Bodom songs on guitar lately and I've been alternating between C and D tuning on my low e string.

I'm just wondering, how much can i tune the low e back and forth until it snaps?

I use ernie regular slinkys and use a low action on my guitar.

^There is not a set amount of de and re-tunes. Doing that does put extra stress on the string, though I think.

The HT-1s don't have footwitching options so no you can't get one.

You could possibly mod your HT-1 if you are handy with soldering things and are comfortable working inside your amplifier (and are able to put everything back together). If you don't know what you are doing though, I would recommend considering a drive pedal if you need your distortion footswitchable instead (or buying an amp that is capable of switching on its own).

That being said, the mod has been done before:

http://guitar-dreamer.blogspot.ca/2...footswitch.html

You can check it out and see if that is something doable for you.

Hey guys, I'm starting a pedal company, but with limited funds I'm at a stand still.

I'm starting a gofundme for my friends and family (and whoever else stumbles across it) but before I can do that, I need pedals that can be showcased.

Now, with my limited funds I have enough to order everything I need for a muff inspired fuzz and an auxiliary pedal. And that's where I'm stuck.

Should I make an A/B switch or a loop switch? Plans are to sell both but I can only have one now to showcase

Hey guys, 2 I've got to questions:

1. My tube amp Blackstar HT-1 began playing very weakly, like as if my tube as dying out and I was loosing distortion massively. Is this something I can fix?

2. I have an m-audio track MK-II and I want to connect it to my laptop via usb only, but I cant get any sound out of it.
Is it possible this audio card requires me to connect it to my yamaha hs-50 monitors at all times?
WOnt it be able to play simultaneoulsy youtube backing track aswell as produce guitar sound?

Greetings

1. You can change tubes yourself. Does your guitar have a battery in it? If so that maybe dying instead of the tube. Check that as well.

2. Do you have all the levels set up properly? Are you sending signal to the monitors? Do you have the audio input/output on your computer set to go to the interface?

By battery do you mean this: http://i64.tinypic.com/b5jibl.jpg ( http://pl.tinypic.com/view.php?pic=...=9#.Vr9xBvLhCUk )

I found it just beneath main power input in the amp.

I have no idea how to set it up. I've been using different settings on the interface though

You'll have to do some research then, every computer is different, so there isn't really one way to set up one of those interfaces. There are just too many variables involved.

That is not the tube or a battery! That is a fuse!

If you do not know what a tube or battery or fuse looks like or even if your guitar has a battery in it, you should not have such equipment. Not only can you damage the equipment if you do not know the basics (and sometimes the basics are not enough), you can harm and kill yourself!

The tubes in your amp are located inside the chassis and seem to be a pain to get to. They are the large glass cylinder-like things towards the left: http://allthesound.com/2014/ht1/v3.jpg

There might also be a battery in your guitar. Like a 9 volt battery you would plug into a TV remote. I doubt the tubes in your amp are bad, it is likely the battery in your guitar if you have one. What guitar do you have?

If you're struggling with any of this just take it to a proper guitar/amp tech and have them help you out.

Okay. Then it may be the tubes. You need to get some of the exact same type, the JJ brand is fine. Look up to take out your amps chassis and how to change the tubes. Also be sure your cables are not the culprit.

Allen / Hex key for fender CD 100

What size Allen key (Hex key) is needed to make adjustments to the trust rods on an acoustic fender CD 100. Also should the guitar have come with one or is it something you need to buy?

Hi all,

My favourite band; what effect is being used in the chorus (0:51)

Here is a session of that song, with the guitar mixed a little louder (0:55)

I light fuzz, and maybe a compressor, is what it sounds like to me.

My Jordon Bosstone clone (Voodoo Labs) can get close.

You would probably do better starting a thread.

I found a picture of his board,.,,

Boss Tuner, CAE Boost, Holy Grail nano, RQD Sea Machine Roland volume pedal, Xotic BB? or RC, ProCo Turbo Rat, EHX Memory Boy, Strymon Timeline.
