The best lead guitar lessons?
I would still class myself as a beginner guitarist, who knows his open and barre chords, but not much else. I can play a few easy guitar solos but I really want to learn the fretboard and how a solo is pieced together etc, and ofcourse, how to play lead guitar itself.
I have been using lessons from Marty Schwartz and Justin Sandercoe to learn my chords etc. I'm now looking for some lead guitar lessons that are very structured, starting from the basics and moving upwards. Could you guys please recommend some guitar lessons to me? I don't mind if they are online lessons or a dvd set. Thanks guys! Just had a look at licklibrary.com. They offer quite a lot of different dvd's for resonable prices (Around £20.) Anybody used licklibrary before? |

Justin Sandercoe has lessons on his site that cover more or less everything from what I know.

EPIC TROLL FAIL! As Zaphod said, Sandercoe covers basically everything. That's a great place to start. There's also a lot of info on www.musictheory.net and in the lessons and columns sections here on UG. And 3 DVDs you may want to look at are Marty Friedman's Melodic Control, Paul Gilbert's Get Out of my Yard, and John Petrucci's Rock Discipline.

Well the Modes guitar lesson by Rob Chappers gave me very good insight in how you can approach a certain scale! Honestly the first instructional DVD i ever watched was Speed Kills by MAB.
![]() The DVD's from licklibrary are good, they don't offer tabs so it's a good way to get off the habbit of relying on tabs, but that's just my opinion. Then like guys above me said, Justin sandercoe. I never really watched Marty but i'm sure he has some great lessons to offer aswell! |

Personally I didn't like speed kills. I don't thing MAB is a good teacher at all. He mostly just shows off.
