I own a Gibson, I've owned an American telecaster by Fender, but, by far this thing blows them away.

Traded an Ibanez for a Modern Player Thinline Deluxe over the weekend. That brings my Tele count up to 3. I might try to fight the pain in the ass that's my work computer to get pics up if I feel like it later.

It's definitely a looker. Chinese made so time will tell about durability but build quality is pretty good. Sounds pretty good stock too. I still need to get a traditional Tele at some point but a '72 thinline and a Cabronita are still higher up on my list.

I got a pair of Super 58's I was going to put in my Les Paul, but now I think I'm going to save them for this 72' Deluxe Tele I'm building.

Do any of you guys have any experience with Mighty Mite necks, or any other similarly priced replacement necks. I'm ready to free my CV Tele from the 21 fret neck it's been cursed with, and I'm trying to find something as close to the current neck's feel as possible.

Mighty Mite is pretty good. I put more trust in them than Warmoth. I've had a few bad eggs with them, mostly to do with their fret leveling. Many builders actually just buy the thicker mighty mite necks and shape the backs on their sanders at home. I'm actually thinking of doing the same thing.

Also, the tele is now a thinline. Cut out the wings today, and will glue the top and back on when I get home from my trip to New Orleans.

1) Eat food everywhere in New Orleans. It is all good. (My hometown, don'cha know.)

2) Where in Wisconsin do you live? I'm wondering about a certain cheese maker...

3) Who likes telecasters?

Madison. To too far from Colin, in fact. Sometimes he comes to the shop and we make fun of you guys. Such fun.

I didn't know you were from N.O! We're staying three blocksish from French Street. Where's the place for crawdads and acid jazz? If they had those two things in the same place, I'd die.

Alas, I haven't lived in NOLA for decades, and almost all of my relatives departed the city post-Katrina, so all my info is out of date. One of my cousins who works in the bev biz told me that several of my old faves have even left the quarter...or gone away entirely.

But seriously, the city is so food-centric, you can get a great po-boy in a Shell gas station convenience store. Mike Anderson's is good, Deannie's, Jaeger's...

Dooky Chase's is an institution. Ditto Brennan's. Visit one if you can.

Ask your hotel concierge, most should be able to steer you right. So will your nose. Well, as long as you just remember that tourists use Bourbon St like a lav, and restaurant dumpsters full of seafood leavings have a special reek, so you have to ignore all that.

My Black Paisley mim tele, aftermarket pickups and bridge, quarter pounder in the neck. Rails in the bridge. 50s wiring mod. When I vet round to routing the control cavity I'll swap the controls around. Its my main Guitar.

I just got a hold of the Squier Vintage Modified Telecaster. This thing kicks ass. Squier makes some really good guitars sometimes.

I got my step daughter an affinity tele, the neck profile is like air, its beautiful to play. A decent set of pickups and a good setup, I'd use it as a second....... If my second wasn't awesome.

What's funny about this one is that it actually has a jazzmaster neck.
