1.75 liter bottle at Total Wine for 35 dollars.

It is quite good. Very balanced oaky and smokey flavors.

It makes me happy to know there are Brits who drink bourbon.

I've been making Manhattans. That shit is tres dangereux. Old school cocktails that are entirely made of liquor pack a serious puncharoony.

Wish I could afford whiskey atm, it's been awhile since I've had a nice pour

Does anyone else here love it when people look at you in dismay upon seeing your whisky glass undiluted with foreign sugary concoctions?

I have gotten that look a few times and it makes me feel oddly superior.

Am I a bad person?

Yeah, same here.

I remember once ordering a whisky in a bar at university. I can't remember what it was, probably an Islay. They had over 50 whiskies, but the girl behind the bar just assumed I wanted coke in it. When I stopped her, she went straight for the ice, and I had to stop her there as well. I just wanted the whisky.

I polished off my Glenfiddich 14 Rich Oak the other day. Bought an Ardmore Traditional cask recently too, and just opened my Clynelish 14. The only other one I've got currently opened is a Jura Prophecy.

Is it your first Clynelish?

My first full bottle. I've had it before, in that bar I mentioned in my last post. I'm enjoying it.

Humor me, friends.

As you may have seen in the beer thread, my birthday is coming up and I will be buying one bottle of Scotch to celebrate the occasion. Why Scotch? Because scotch is good. Also, because my birthday just so happens to coincide with the Scottish independence voting day.

So recommend me a bottle, malt mates, and one preferable under the 100 dollar limit. If you would like to know what the availability is in my area, just search the Total Wine website for selections in Kennesaw, GA.

I thank you.

^ Nice!

I just picked up a bottle of the Bruichladdich Laddie Ten today, reduced to clear. Which seems odd to me, since it's been really popular and the distillery has struggled to keep up with demand. I'm not complaining though, since I got it cheap. It joins the collection.

I've only got two bottles open atm, a Clynelish 14 and a Jura Prophecy. Plenty of unopened bottles though!

theguitarist, I'm curious about The Botanist since I just discovered that it was distilled at Bruichladdich. How is it? I may pick up a bottle of my own soon.
