Probably just for portability considering it he wears it on a harness on his body, and walks around. It would be awfully unwieldy to do that with a standard, straight keyboard with the same number of keys. It also looks like it rotates around the curve's center point.

Not that I'm aware of, but I'm not hugely active here.

EDIT: If you're referring to that thread from the Pit, I believe someone from the Drug Thread (DT) died, not a DT fan. I have no idea if that's what you're thinking of though.

Ah yes. Thought DT meant Dream Theater. Wth would Drug Thread be abbreviated to the exact same thing?
