You did, and it was for me, and I like and listen to all of that stuff, but I want more upbeat sounding more westerny stuff now.

Which Blind Faith album is the best? Which is the first? Which is the last?

Those two are great and I also love The Whole Love alot. Summerteeth is alright but the only 3 that I really love are YHF, Being There, and Whole Love.

EDIT: NVM I just looked up Summerteeth and that is also one that I really like.

Controversial opinion: Summerteeth is their best.

A Ghost Is Born is also great, though feel free to cut the long drone out of "Less Than You Think". It is a conceptual thing about Tweedy's painkiller addiction, but doesn't add much to the album. If you want more country-ish stuff out of Wilco, try AM.

Here's my request: I want dark and paranoid funk & soul. Think There's A Riot Goin' On and Free Your Mind...And Your Ass Will Follow in terms of tone. Really, as broken as possible.

Where would I start if I wanted to start listening to Sonic Youth and Grateful Dead?

My controversial opinion is that The Whole Love is their best. Now that i'm listening to Summerteeth and remembering it's probably #2. Then YHF and then Being There.

I think I listened to Ghost is Born once but I never went back and listened to maybe I should do that again some day.

For Sonic Youth try: Daydream Nation, Sonic Nurse

I remember liking The Whole Love back when it came out, should have mentioned it in my post, but yeah haven't listened in a while and listening now and love it. In the running for my favorite opening and closing track on an album. Gonna do Summerteeth next, never gave it a try.

Rather Ripped is pretty tight, though.

Would never say it isn't. Only album by them that I don't enjoy is Dirty and even then it isn't an active dislike.

I think Murray Street is a good introduction too. I think it's best for people who don't know what Sonic Youth is to start from newer releases and go backwards.

I started with Daydream Nation and Sister for Sonic Youth. Not that I think that should be a starting point, I'm just saying things.
