Hi!
I'm wanting to add some cream ABS plastic binding around my walnut body, maple top guitar but im just wondering if there is any sort of special glue or adhesive im suppose to use, or can I just use some Gorilla Super Glue? Thanks! ![]() |

Super glue. I don't know anything about Gorilla super glue, but I try to use something with a slower setup time, so I can apply the glue and get my binding tape on with time to spare.
And if you didn't know already, you can melt some ABS binding with acetone to make a plastic goop. It's extremely useful for filling gaps. |

IIRC gorilla glue expands when it sets, so that would not be ideal for your situation. I'd give you another suggestion but I have no experience attaching binding to a guitar. I would be leaning towards using crazy glue (cyanoacrylate) though.

Super glue and crazy glue are both cyanoacrylate, crazy glue just bonds instantly. If he's doing this without binding tape crazy glue might be ideal, but I would never recommend that. |

This is why I put a disclaimer saying I've never put binding on a guitar lol

Well, it's not that crazy glue won't work, I just think the super glue/binding tape method works better than anything and is less stressful because of the slower setup time. |

No, you misunderstood me. If you're going to use binding tape, you should use a slow setup super glue, something with a 15-30 sec setup time. If you're not going to use binding tape, use Krazy glue because crazy glue is an instant bond and doesn't need to be taped. My preferred method is a slow setup super glue and binding tape. |

This is the stuff that Stew Mac suggests, but super glue should work too, but remember, it can be nasty stuff is you screw up.
